WE’RE ADOPTING ORPHANAGES IN HAITI

The images are horrific! The need is great! It is my hearts desire that we supply the orphaned children of Haiti with 1 Million servings of formula, plastic baby bottles, personal hygiene items and school supplies.

There are hundreds of orphanages in Haiti. Some are financially supported by adoption agencies in the United States and other countries. There are more that are not. It is those that we need to reach with support and supplies. But until we can get on the ground in Haiti true needs remain unknown.

On March 18, 2010, volunteers from Vanguard Ministries of Branson, Missouri, will travel to Haiti to locate orphanages most in need of supplies. Donations received will be used to purchase supplies in Haiti. Supplies will be purchased in the U.S. and delivered prior to the arrival of the volunteers if possible. The delivery infrastructure in Haiti is currently at a standstill.

Every dollar donated will be spent toward actual orphan relief efforts. Volunteers are paying their own travel expenses and there is no overhead generated by Vanguard. The donations received through this effort will be personally delivered.

Vanguard was founded in 2005 as a non-profit 501c3 ministry in order to establish a means of raising financial support for ministry projects in the nations of Sri Lanka (after the tsunami) and India, and now Vanguard is reaching out to the nation of Haiti in her time of need.

This trip to Haiti a vision in progress. It has been only days since the earthquake shook the island nation of Haiti. Right now it is uncertain which airport is allowing commercial flights. It is known that UPS is no longer making deliveries from individuals or local organizations. As the date for departure draws near, logistical conditions will improve. There were approximately 380,000 orphans in Haiti before the January 12, 2010 earthquake. Many more have joined that number. One-half of Haiti’s population is age 20 and younger. They need our support!

With your help, we can improve the plight of the most venerable and helpless of all. The orphans of Haiti. They need individuals like you and me to give them a voice and a fighting chance at survival. One donation is a pebble in the pond of compassion that ripples outward in making a huge difference in the lives of these who can not help themselves.

The volunteers of Vanguard will carry your support with them and serve as your hands and feet in the Haiti Orphan Relief effort. You will be right there with us!
